At this year’s BlogPaws opening night reception Dr. Arnold Plotnick was announced as this year’s recipient of the Winn Feline Foundation Media Appreciation Award.
Steve Dale presented the award at the to the founder and Medical Director of Manhattan Cat Specialists, Arnold Plotnick, DVM, MS, ACVIM. In addition to his veterinary work Dr. Arnold Plotnick is also a noted author, columnist and blogger.
After the award was announced, BlogPaws revealed a giant check signifying a $1,000 contribution to the Winn Feline Foundation. The Winn Feline Foundation enhances the relationship between cats and humans by fostering improvements in feline health through research and education.
In 1968, the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) created what would soon become Winn Feline Foundation, establishing a source of funding for medical studies to improve cat health and welfare. A 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, the New Jersey-based foundation was named in honor of CFA’s longtime attorney and advisor, Robert H. Winn. CFA continues to actively support the Foundation and remains dedicated to Winn’s original vision — to promote the health and welfare of all cats by developing or participating in projects for their betterment, including the funding of research and education.
