Julie Lux is the 10th Germinder20 Power of Pink Honoree. She is a former editor of Goodnewsforpets.com, a former Vice President of Germinder + Associates, a video producer and a dog lover well versed in the dog world. She is presently Vice President, Public Relations at FLM Harvest. Broadcasting was Julie’s first career. At KSHB-TV in Kansas City, Missouri, she was public relations and program manager before moving on-camera to host and co-produce the station’s local weekday morning talk show, “AM Live.”
Additionally, Julie has experience in news radio as well as writing for specialty publications covering human and companion animal health care. Because of her media background, Julie brings an insider’s knowledge of what is news and how to best frame a story for the benefit of the clients she supports. She also brings a unique perspective to her work in the animal health field as a breeder, exhibitor and judge of purebred Beagles and American Foxhounds.
She is on a first-name basis with companion animal industry leaders and has served on the public relations team for the annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and as national spokesperson and PR chair for the Dalmatian Club of America.
In her present role at FLM Harvest, Julie Lux serves as a senior leader working with animal and agriculture clients with a specialty focus on companion animal health public relations and video production. Julie also provides leadership and senior-level counsel within the overall FLM+ public relations functional practice.
Prior to joining FLM Harvest, Julie was with Archer Malmo in Memphis where she served as the public relations lead on the Zoetis – formerly Pfizer Animal Health – U.S. Companion Animal account. Julie was responsible for supporting the company on a variety of initiatives including product launches, issues management consultation and implementation, and cause marketing programs. In that role, she worked with products in therapeutic areas including vaccines, parasiticides, dermatology and pain management. Julie’s experience includes work on the corporate side in human and animal health pharmaceutical public relations.
Before Archer Malmo, she served as director of communications and advocacy relations for Schering-Plough, now Merck, supporting such well-known brands as Nasonex, Claritin, Coppertone and HomeAgain. She began her corporate career at Pharmacia, now Pfizer, managing a major public education campaign featuring movie icon, Debbie Reynolds.
As a communications consultant, Julie has worked with clients ranging from Hallmark and Pfizer to an emerging biotechnology company.
Julie is a native of Kansas City, studied radio, TV and film at the University of Kansas and holds a degree in communications from Rockhurst University.
