Chicago, IL " July 29, 2009 " The Chicago City Council will be honoring pet expert Steve Dale today for his advocacy on behalf of companion animals in the City of Chicago as well as around the United States.
During Chicago City Council meetings, a resolution will be brought forth by Alderman Gene Schulter to acknowledge Dale for being, “a fierce advocate for the proper care of companion animals.” The City Council will also commend Dale for serving, “as a key advisor for the Chicago City Council regarding issues surrounding companion animals.”
Dale has hosted a radio show about companion animals in Chicago for over 12 years. Dale’s national radio program, Steve Dale’s Pet World, has been syndicated since 2002 and is heard locally on WLS-AM from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoons. The show and its companion, The Pet Minute with Steve Dale is heard on over 135 stations and markets throughout the United States and Canada.
Dale also writes the nationally syndicated newspaper column, My Pet World, which is carried by hundreds of newspapers through Tribune Media Services. Dale is also the Pet Editor for USA Weekend and has made numerous national and local TV appearances including Oprah, National Geographic Explorer, CNN Headline News, & The Fox News Channel among others.
Dale is a certified dog and cat behavior consultant. He serves on the board of directors of the American Humane Association as well as many other animal welfare organizations.
