Who says you can’t evolve in 90 years? Not WVC, now known as the Viticus Group! As Goodnewsforpets.com celebrates it’s continued evolution at 20 years old this week, the Western Veterinary Conference otherwise known as WVC is shaking thing up in the veterinary world with a corporate rebrand to the Viticus Group.
Hold on — according to a press release the WVC name will be retained for offerings associated with the veterinary community, including the year-round Academy course and the Annual Conference. Viticus Group is the name for the overarching organization that captures the mission for the human health division as well as the veterinary division of the organization. The announcement reflects the expanded vision of the organization.
“We’re excited about the expansion to include human health education as a focus along with veterinary education because it means we can influence more lives for the better,” sayd Andrea Davis, CEO of Viticus Group. “Though we have a new face and a new name, our commitment to supporting veterinary and human health professionals by providing them access to affordable, advanced continuing education with cutting-edge technology in state-of-the-art facilities remains the same.”
The name Viticus combines the Latin term for life, “vita” and the Latin term for doctor, “medicus.” The Viticus Groups facilities will receive upgrades and additions to accommodate even more events for veterinary and human health. These facilities will be known as the Viticus Center and the formerly known Oquendo Center will be known as the Viticus Center-Oquendo Campus. A new 71,000 square foot facility recently acquired by the Viticus Group will be called the Viticus Center – Eastern Campus.
