How can you test your pet for fleas?

A: To test for fleas, the Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC) recommends combing your pet on a white piece of paper and letting the loose dirt fall on to the paper. Then, transfer the dirt onto a wet piece of paper. If the “dirt” turns red then it is actually waste matter from fleas.
