Q: What Year Was The AVMA Founded?


The AVMA, founded in 1863, is one of the oldest and largest veterinary medical organizations in the world, with more than 85,000 member veterinarians worldwide engaged in a wide variety of professional activities and dedicated to the art and science of veterinary medicine. Last year, under the presidency of Dr. Douglas Aspros, the AVMA celebrated their 150th anniversary. Dr. Douglas Aspros is currently the Secretary/Treasurer of the Women’s Veterinary Leadership Development Initiative (WVLDI) one of two men serving on the board and recently sat down with Good News for Pets for an interview on his new position.
