Puppy and Kitten Starter Kits Connect Pet Owners to Practices, Parasite Prevention

New York, N.Y., May XX, 2008 – Pfizer Animal Health is pleased to announce the distribution of REVOLUTION® (selamectin) branded puppy and kitten starter kits to veterinarians. With these kits, Pfizer is elevating the industry standard by giving new pet owners valuable resources to aid in caring for them. Included in the kits is a booklet with tips on caring for a dog or cat, a Revolution product and parasite guide, a health record booklet, a photo magnet picture frame and a free dose of Revolution.

The complimentary starter kits, provided to practices by Pfizer Animal Health, allow veterinarians to educate puppy and kitten owners on the importance of parasite prevention and provide owners with one free dose of Revolution, which protects against several parasites, including heartworms. Cats, just as much as dogs, need this protection. Unlike canine heartworm infection, there is no cure for feline heartworm infection or HARD (Heartworm Associated Respiratory Disease), a condition that can result in significant damage to a cat’s lungs.

The attractive starter kits will help veterinarians establish relationships with new pet owners on the first visit. Veterinary practices will be able to easily identify which kit to give to puppy (bright red) and kitten (bright blue) owners, and for convenient storage in a small space, the kits are stackable. Starter kits are available through a Pfizer sales representative.
