July 2007
This issue of Goodnewsforpets.com focuses on the 144th Annual American Veterinary Medical Association Convention (AVMA), July 14-18, and the American Heartworm Society’s 12th Triennial Heartworm Symposium, immediately preceding AVMA, July 13 and 14, in Washington, D.C.
As Germinder & Associates, Inc. celebrates its ninth anniversary this month, we are honored and pleased to work with so many veterinary organizations. This will be our 12th year attending the AVMA convention, and our second “tour of duty” with the American Heartworm Society Symposium. At each conference and Symposium we’ve connected media representatives with veterinarians and organizations who are announcing new research, launching a new team, or celebrating a successful program.
This year is no different. At the American Heartworm Society’s Symposium, the International Feline Heartworm Disease Council will convene, new research will be unveiled, and Dr. Shelly Rubin will be named the new president. The KNOW Heartworms campaign, a partnership of the American Heartworm Society, the American Association of Feline Practitioners and underwritten by Pfizer Animal Health, highlights new research about HARD, or Heartworm Associated Respiratory Disease, and continues to gain momentum. Dr. Jane Brunt will come on board as the 2008 AAFP spokesperson, and we will announce the winners of the KNOW Heartworms Veterinary Hospital Awareness Contest.
Last, but certainly not least, we highlight a worthy cause to promote donations to the Winn Feline Foundation.
We are looking forward to sharing another nine years of pet industry and veterinary news with the readers of Goodnewsforpets.com!
Best Regards,
Lea-Ann Germinder, APR
