(Pensacola, Fla. " March 25, 2013) " Pegasus Laboratories, makers of PRN® Pharmacal branded products, has named Dr. Duane Maye as PRN Pharmacal Director of Business & Product Development. Maye’s hiring is a continuation of establishing a more robust marketing and sales team in Pensacola following animal health industry veteran Jeff Santosuosso being named Vice President-General Manager.
Dr. Maye has over twenty-five years experience in the veterinary profession including national brand product sales, distribution, key account management, and new market development. As PRN Director of Business & Product Development, Dr. Maye will be responsible for revenue stream development of existing and new products including internally and externally sourced products, technologies and compounds.

Dr. Maye’s veterinary industry experience includes 17 years at Merial. As Director of Equine Marketing at Merial he combined the veterinary and OTC products under one sales and marketing team and led cross-functional teams in the launch of multiple products. During this time he also developed and grew the private label business by initiating partnerships with outside distributors and other pharmaceutical companies.
Prior to his Director position, Dr. Maye served in several progressive positions at Merial including Associate Director, Marketing, Technical Sales Manager, and Product Manager, Cattle Products.

Before his first position at Merial, formerly Merck, Dr. Maye served as a Veterinary Medical Officer-Supervisor for APHIS at the United States Department of Agriculture, Sacramento, California. Dr. Maye began his veterinary medicine career as a Veterinary Medical Officer with the California Department of Agriculture.
Dr. Maye earned both his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and his Bachelor’s of Science, Animal Science degree from Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Alabama.
