October 2008

In this issue of Goodnewsforpets.com, Germinder & Associates continues to celebrate the cat with a special feature on the Cat Fancier’s Association Cat Championship October 18-19 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. This show has a special meaning to me as it is where we acquired our cat, Cocoa, an American Wirehair that didn’t “wire” right at the show. She was bred by a lovely person who also happened to be a doctor. Two years later Cocoa continues to provide welcome companionship.

Continuing not only the celebration of our 10th anniversary but our focus on the cat, I recently attended the European Society of Feline Medicine conference in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was amazing to learn the differences in cultures regarding the status of the cat as we continue to develop, CATalyst, www.catalystsummit.org an initiative to champion the cat here in the United States. We will have more on that as the new year unfolds.

Finally, the North American Pet Insurance Association (NAPHIA) wants pet owners to know that pet health insurance really can be a value in these uncertain economic times. More information can be found at www.naphia.org.
