NBC Unveils Holiday Dog Show Special with David Frei as Expert Analyst

David Frei will be the expert commentator for NBC’s ambitious, new holiday special, “The National Dog Show Presented by Purina®.”

The premiere of this newly-created Thanksgiving Day family treat comes on Turkey Day, November 28, immediately following the Macy’s Parade on NBC. Because of the support of the canine industry and the choice network television time slot, the two-hour special could become, in its first year, a major event both in the dog show world and among network television holiday specials. The event is part of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia Dog Shows, November 16-17 in Philadelphia.

Frei is one of the most authoritative voices in the dog show world. Since 1990, he has provided the expert analysis for the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on USA Network. He has made scores of other TV appearances in a career that includes being a purebred dog owner/breeder, an American Kennel Club (AKC)-licensed judge and a public relations executive.

Among his current projects is that of spokesperson for the AKC’s DOGNY program, which has already raised more than $2 million for search and rescue dog programs as it culminates over the next several weeks. Frei is also the co-author of the newly-published “The Angel By My Side,” one of the hottest new books on the market since its release earlier this month.
