NAVC Institute Sets Record For Attendance

The NAVC Institute set a record on its seventh annual meeting held May 20-25. More than 230 attendees participated in the weeklong intensive, in-residence CE program, marking the largest NAVC Institute since its 2001 inception. Attendees, representing nine different countries, selected from eight veterinary courses and two technician courses that included classroom instruction and hands-on laboratories.

“Our approach to the NAVC Institute is to help busy practitioners make diagnostic and therapeutic decisions,” said NAVC Director of Education Richard DeBowes, DVM, MS, DACVS. “Attendees receive clinically relevant instruction from top-tier speakers with a practical, case-based approach,” said DeBowes.

Registrants attended courses ranging from applied clinical behavioral medicine, dentistry, dermatology, emergency and critical care medicine, feline medicine, orthopedics, small animal general surgery to abdominal ultrasound. Behavior and dentistry technician courses also provided laboratories and case presentations.

“This was a fantastic course that built my knowledge and confidence,” said one veterinary dentistry registrant. “The opportunity to learn very complicated material in a relaxed environment with a small group of like-minded individuals is refreshing,” he continued. “The NAVC Institute is the best possible CE I can imagine.”

Held at the Caribe Royale Suites Orlando, the NAVC Institute provides registrants with an unparalleled learning community where they live, eat and attend classes on a NAVC-created mini-campus. Registration, all course materials, laboratories, lodging, meals and receptions are included in the course fee. Attendees also receive a complimentary and transferable registration to the NAVC Conference, January 19-23, 2008.

The 2008 NAVC Institute course schedule will be announced in September at www.tnavc.org The NAVC is the non-profit organization that produces, organizes and delivers premier continuing education programs for the entire veterinary healthcare team.
