MICHIGAN TECHS HOST FALL CONFERENCE

The Michigan Association of Veterinary Technicians will be hosting our Annual Fall Conference during NVTW.

The Macomb Community College Student Chapter of NAVTA will be hosting a dog wash during NVTW as well as a Bake Sale. They are also going to be having a pet photo contest the week before the NVTW and announce the winner during NVTW.

NORTH DAKOTA TECHS HOST FIRST-AID CLINIC

The Veterinary Technology Program of North Dakota State University is planning a First Aid Clinic to be offered to the public during NVTW. The clinic will be taught by students and will include basic first aid for pets, household poisonous plants and CPR for pets. They are also planning a banquet and are inviting local veterinary technicians to participate in a panel on “life as a vet tech in the real world.”

The North Dakota Veterinary Technician Association will be hosting it’s 12th Annual Continuing Education meeting during NVTW. Featured topics include; cytology, bovine injection sites, bovine respiratory diseases, practical approach to ferrets and clinical views of the iguana, rabbit and guinea pig nutrition. The association will also select the North Dakota Veterinary Technician of the Year and will be awarding the first “LuAnn Lee Scholarship” to a second year student in the Veterinary Technology Program at NDSU.
