Mordecai Siegal Wins International Writing Award

Mordecai Siegal is therecipient of the international Cat Writers’ Association (CWA) MuseMedallion™ Award. He was announced a winner at the 2005 CWAcommunication contest awards banquet held November 19 in Foster City,Calif. as part of the annual CWA Professional Conference.

The Cat Writers’ Association Muse Medallion Awards are awarded tothe top entries in 40 contest categories including newspaper and magazinearticles, books and online publications. This year, there were over 400entries in the contest. Entries are judged by a three person panel of CWA member judges.

Mr. Siegal won the coveted first-place medallion for his book, “The Cat Fanciers’ Association Complete Cat Book” published by HarperCollins in November 2004. The book is the official publication of the CFA, the world’s largest registry of pedigreed cats and was written by the associates of the CFA with the guidance and editorial skill of Mr. Siegal. He is the author of 33 published books about cats and dogs concerned with behavior, training, health, medicine, breed descriptions and most subjects of importance to novice or experienced pet owners.

The International Cat Writers’ Association was founded in 1992 and is dedicated to providing news, information and education on all aspects of cat care and welfare, as well as improving the quality of writing about cats.
