For her service and dedication to the global animal health industry, Kim Allen has been named the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor 2018 Iron Paw Recipient. Kim Allen has served as the President of the Commercial Division of Henry Schein Animal Health since July 2005, retiring Aug 1, 2018. Prior to that merger, Kim was the President of Burns Veterinary Supply for The Darby Group Companies for 9 years. She has over 36 years in the veterinary distribution industry, serving in various sales and marketing positions, as well as senior executive positions . Kim served on the Board of Directors of the American Veterinary Distributors Association for 15 years. She has also served on the Vedco Board of Directors for 8 years. She received her B.S. in Animal Science from Rutgers University.
Kim also rides and breeds Oldenburg horses and has shown them in dressage, eventing, and breed shows. She is also a member of the US Equestrian Federation, US Dressage Federation, and US Eventing Association. Kim has two children, Heather and John, who are both also in the animal health industry. She is also a proud grandparent. She and her husband, Claude, live on a farm in White Pine, Tennessee with several dogs, cats and horses, were she will enjoy her retirement from HSAH Aug. 1, 2018.
