WVC opens registration for the Women’s Veterinary Summit, held July 22-23, 2018, in Las Vegas at the world-renowned Oquendo Center.

Moving into its third year, the Summit is geared towards veterinarians who want to gain confidence in pursuing their career goals with continued emphasis on leadership, communications, wellness and success.

2018 keynote speakers include:

Allison Massari has been recognized by Meeting and Conventions Magazine as one of the Top 10 Best Speakers for “motivation” and “personal development,” and has been featured on ABC, NBC and FOX networks. After overcoming a devastating, near-fatal car accident in 1998, Massari went on to share her riveting and courageous story, inspiring others who are suffering and to help reinvigorate teams and avoid burnout in the workplace.

Siri Lindley is owner and head coach for Sirius Athletes Inc., where she tries to find ways to stimulate and encourage others to step out of their comfort zones and realize their ultimate potential. As a former World Champion Triathlete and World Champion Coach, Lindley has coached numerous athletes to Olympic Medals. Lindley is also co-president of Believe Ranch and Rescue where she helps rescue dogs and horses from dire circumstances. Siri is one of Tony Robbin’s guest lecturers and she has lectured to numerous superstars, including Beyoncé and Justin Bieber, on how to be mentally tough and deal with adversity.

Aside from these world-renowned guest lectures, participants will break into small groups to have in depth and personal discussion on:

  • Ways to initiate and embrace change
  • How to create a personal brand for career advancement
  • Gain confidence in pursuing goals based on personal values
  • Career paths and ways to address hidden barriers
  • Wellness – personal, social, financial
  • Build a culture that nurtures growth
  • How technology can assist in reaching your goals

This Summit has enormous support by some outstanding partners who also see the need for self reflection and improvement. Veterinarians and technicians, men and women, sometimes focus so much on patient care, they forget to care for themselves. This Summit has been developed in partnership with American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Women in Leadership and Management in Animal Health (WILMAH), Women’s Veterinary Leadership Development Initiative (WVLDI) and American Association of Industry Veterinarians (AAIV). Sponsors Elanco and Calico Financial assist this year in bringing another Women’s Veterinary Summit featuring highly sought-after speakers and expert instructors.

“WVC has a commitment to providing the best learning opportunities for the veterinary community and our sponsors are a huge part of making our courses relevant, exciting and affordable,” said WVC Chief Veterinary Medical Officer Dr. Anthony Pease. “We are very excited to continue this tradition with this two-day leadership and networking event.” In addition to the WVC Annual Conference in March, WVC offers numerous year-round educational programs at the state-of-the-art Oquendo Center in Las Vegas.

For 2018, WVC will host a Veterinary Technician Symposium, Women’s Veterinary Summit, Recent Graduate Symposium, Veterinary Business Leadership Symposium, Destination CE in Costa Rica on Feline Medicine and Surgery, and ‘On the Road’ courses in various cities across the U.S.
