Jewelry Trends Heading for the Dog House

New York, NY " March 2010 — According to the 2010 Pet Products Trend Report, more and more companies traditionally known for human products are going to the dogs, and cats. Big name companies including like Paul Mitchell, Omaha Steaks, Origins, Harley Davidson and Old Navy are now offering lines of pet products ranging from dog shampoo, pet attire, and name-brand toys to gourmet treats and food.

The jewelry industry is no exception to this trend and many designers are expanding their lines to include pieces made specifically for dogs. Sandra Winick, born in Brazil and a former international model, is now expressing her passion for design through a line of jewelry for dogs and dog lovers called Bling Bone.

Sandra, whose family has been in the jewelry business in NYC for over 50 years, has broken into a whole new market for jewelry with her beautiful line of personalized puppy tags as well as a ‘grab n go’ pet jewelry line, any diva could drool over!

The idea for these glamorous accessories with dogs in mind came to Sandra in October of 2008 when she designed a jeweled “woof” necklace to donate as a prize at a “Chil-o-ween” event, Halloween for Chihuahuas, and the crowd went wild over it. Seeing the overwhelming popularity for her doggie necklace combined with her own personal dedication to pets inspired Sandra to create more “woof” charms and necklaces for other dog lovers to buy.

Additionally, she is donating 100% of the proceeds from one of her products, the Beth O. Bling Bone Diamond Charm Bracelet, to the North Shore Animal League. Sandra is especially dedicated to helping pets in shelters and donating to organization’s that help pets with no home.
