INTERNATIONAL ABSORBENTS ROLLING OUT NEW DOG LITTER

BELLINGHAM, Wash., March 31 /PRNewswire/ — International Absorbents Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: IABS), today announced that Absorption Corp, the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, is rolling out its new dog litter product at the H.H. Backer Pet Industry Spring Trade Show in Atlantic City, New Jersey, March 31 to April 2.

The H.H. Backer trade show is the first major pet industry event of the year. Over 550 exhibitors and more than 5,000 buyers are expected to attend, according to the sponsor, H.H. Backer and Associates, publishers of Pet Age and Groom & Board magazines.

Absorption Corp is a world leader in the beneficial reuse of waste cellulose technology and has been developing its dog litter over the past three years. The resulting litter is a unique, large, granular virgin fiber paper product utilizing the same patented technology and production facility as the Company’s ECOfresh(TM) cat litter.

The initial product rollout will be under the brand name, Puppy Go Potty. The Company acquired the rights to this brand name and dog training system from a California developer earlier this year. Absorption Corp had been supplying the training system litter to this developer throughout a successful consumer and professional test market period. Puppy Go Potty has been reviewed and endorsed by the ABTA, the largest dog training organization in the U.S., and was featured as one of DOGworld’s “Notable Products for the Millennium.”

The initial product line includes a retail bag of specially treated doglitter, a larger professional sized bag for use in pet stores, by trainers, vests and breeders, and three retail kits consisting of litter, dog sized litter pans, cleaning supplies and assorted dog training aids.

The Company’s dog litter products target the estimated $200 million house-bound dog litter market and the $20 million (dog) house training market. International Absorbents Inc. develops, manufactures and markets patented and proprietary, cost effective consumer and commercial products derived from recycled, renewable materials. These environmentally safe products outperform conventional products used in a broad range of industrial and consumer applications, including oil and hazardous liquid spill cleanup and control, oil/water filtration, packaging and commercial/retail animal bedding and litter.
