Company Recognized in UK-Based Magazine’s Inaugural Animal Health Awards
Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC) today announced that it has been named “Best Animal Healthcare Product Provider 2016” by Global Health & Pharma (GHP) Magazine, a UK-based health care publication, in its inaugural animal health awards.
According to GHP Magazine, it created the awards to recognize “companies associated with the health and welfare of animals in addition to veterinary medicine across the globe.” The awards focus on corporations within the animal health industry, such as Henry Schein, and national animal health associations that explore the “rapidly increasing areas of innovation, technology, scientific achievement and wildlife conservation.”
Henry Schein was recognized for its commitment to providing animal health practitioners with the products and services they need to operate more efficient and profitable practices, as well as its dedication to supporting global animal health through public-private partnerships and in-kind donations. For example, the company partners with Mission Rabies in its work to eradicate rabies worldwide by providing approximately $60,000 in health care supplies—including pharmaceuticals, syringes, and other veterinary products—to support the organization’s canine vaccination efforts in Malawi. Henry Schein also joined with Canine Companions for Independence, the first and largest assistance dog organization in the U.S. helping people with physical disabilities, to provide volunteers who raise future assistance dogs with a care package stocked with products essential for raising the puppy during the first 18 months of life.
“It is an honor to be among this distinguished group of winners, and we are pleased to be recognized for our commitment to serving the needs of those who safeguard animal health around the world,” said Peter McCarthy, President, Global Animal Health Group, Henry Schein. “Being named the ‘Best Animal Healthcare Product Provider 2016’ only strengthens our resolve to continue providing our customers with the products and services they need to operate successful practices that deliver excellent care to their patients.”
