Goodnewforpets Mourns the Loss of AM/CAN CH Deluxe Dynamite Extrordinair “”Ike”” 1993 2009

By Julie Lux

Ike, First Goodnewsforpets editor Julie Lux’s dog winning Best of Breed from the Veteran’s Class, as he did more than once in his time. In addition to his “career” as an American and Canadian Champion show dog, he was also a model for Alpo and most of all, he was a wonderful ambassador for the Dalmatian breed.

It is with deep sadness that we tell you of the loss of the one and only Mr. Ike Lux. Ike has been a strong presence in our lives for the past 15 and a half years. Ike, an American and Canadian show champion Dalmatian, continued to show up to the age of 10. Ike was always distinguished in the ring by his beautiful head and flying, open side-gait.

Ike loved everyone and was always happy to stop and visit with people of all ages — especially if they had cookies. Ike never let age stand in his way. At the age of eight, he was the first Deluxe dog to fly, taking a Midwest Express flight to San Antonio with his friend,CH Cottondale Ink Jet Copy, “Jet”, another Dalmatian, to compete in the Dalmatian National Specialty. He even made more than one long road trip including one of 1200 plus miles at age 14. Ike also had a wonderful sense of humor. He gave us great joy and will always live on in our hearts.

Ike will be loved, cherished and remembered forever. We are deeply grateful to have had the joy and privilege of life with Ike. He is survived by his sister, the remarkable Courtney Marie Lux, his good friends Victoria Lee FH Lux and Lindsay Ann Lux and all the beagles.
