Alamo Rescue Friends recently came into the spotlight when 7 of their fostered dogs found their way into this year’s Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.

Roscoe, Lance, Olive, Moses, Zane, Papi and Theodore – seven formerly homeless canine residents of Alamo City have made their way from the streets to the spotlight! The puppies’ rescue and rise to fame is made possible by the partnership between Alamo Rescue Friends and the Humane Society for Greater Nashua. Not to mention with all dogs involved in the 2014 production being adopted before the conclusion of the show’s airtime, the future couldn’t be brighter for these pups!
Alamo Rescue Friends, affectionately known as ARF, is a non-profit organization. The mission of Alamo Rescue Friends (ARF) is to save the lives of San Antonio’s impounded strays by pulling dogs from the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services, fostering them, and transporting them to our shelter partners in New England; and to encourage the public’s involvement in rescue efforts.
ARF has many ways to help take part, from adoption to sponsoring. The Pawsability Fund provides help to rescues that require additional medical care before adoption is a possibility. The strongest message ARF advocates is public involvement in achieving a No-Kill policy across the country. They are working towards helping San Antonio achieving a no-kill status in 2015.
