Germinder Wins 3 Top BMA Awards for CATalyst

(Kansas City, Mo. — September 25, 2009) — Germinder & Associates, Inc., www.germinder.com, a pet/vet consultancy, full service agency and parent company/publisher of www.goodnewsforpets.com, today announced the company received three top Fountain Awards at the BMA marketing ceremonies in Kansas City. The entries were for a branding campaign for the CATalyst Council Inc.’s “Top 10 Cat-Friendly Cities” campaign including evolution of logo design, a “Conversation Cat” poster, and “Top 10 Cat-Friendly Cities” media kit materials.

“I am delighted that we were recognized last night for our work with the CATalyst Council. We are well-known for our compelling national pet public awareness campaigns. Now to be newly recognized by our marketing colleagues for how we effectively brand and market those campaigns is a great honor. It affirms our expertise in the pet market and veterinary communications in combining solid public relations strategy with branding execution,” said Lea-Ann Germinder, APR, Fellow PRSA, president of Germinder & Associates, Inc.

Germinder and her teams have won dozens of awards including a Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Silver Anvil Award of Excellence and an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) Gold Key Award for “Pets Need Dental, Care Too!” a campaign that built the oral category for pets and is now in its 14th year. The company has also won awards for www.goodnewsforpets.com.

In addition to work in the dog and cat segments, Germinder’s work in the pet industry includes helping launch the hydroponically-grown aquatic plants industry including logo development, and earlier work with the New York office of Ornamental Fish International (OFI), an international trade association.

Additional recent campaigns for the veterinary profession include “Healthy Cats for Life!” and “Know Heartworms.” Earlier campaigns Germinder has created for other market sectors include the “Farm & Home Savings Mini-Society” to teach economics education to grade-school students, and “The Sprint/National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) Datacom Challenge,” a program to encourage high school students to create data solutions for their communities.
