NEW YORK (January 1, 2012)– Germinder & Associates, Inc. has announced Lea-Ann Germinder, APR, Fellow PRSA, president, has been elected 2012 President-Elect of the board of directors of the Public Relations Society of America, New York City Chapter (PRSA-NY). Continuing a long-standing chapter tradition, Germinder will also serve as the PRSA-NY Big Apple Awards Chair. The 2012 Big Apple Awards, recognizing the highest achievements in public relations by New York City area professionals, will be held Thursday, May, 2012.
Germinder previously served as Vice President, Membership and two terms as Big Apple Sponsorship Chair. Germinder has also served PRSA nationally as Midwest District Chair, and served on the Greater Kansas City PRSA chapter board for ten years including as chapter president.

The Big Apple Awards are considered one of the most prestigious public relations awards in New York City. Germinder’s accomplishments in creating successful campaigns and educating others regarding best public relations practices and leadership in business have resulted in several awards including the PRSA Silver Anvil Award of Excellence; the Business Marketing Association Fountain Awards; the “Enterprising Women of the Year Honoree” Award from Enterprising Women Magazine and the “Women Who Mean Business” Award from the Kauffman Foundation/Kansas City Business Journal. Germinder is also a member of the prestigious PRSA College of Fellows.
