Kansas City Small Business Monthly has named Germinder & Associates, Inc., a marketing and public relations agency specializing in animal health, one of the top “25 Under 25” for 2008. The 25 Under 25 Awards honor the top 25 companies in Kansas City with fewer than 25 employees.
The independent panel of judges selected Germinder & Associates as a winner based on financial stability, ability to overcome challenges, community involvement, distinguishing or defining characteristics and company vision. This award comes as Germinder & Associates celebrates its 10th anniversary.
Germinder & Associates will be honored in several ways in the coming months, including a profile in a special February supplement in Kansas City Small Business Monthly, an invitation to be a guest on the “Eye on Small Business” radio show and an awards gala in March.
“Our team is honored to receive this award. We have focused on our niche in animal health, and we are proud of the quality of work we do for our national clients,” said Lea-Ann Germinder, APR, founder and president of Germinder & Associates.
The 25 Under 25 Awards began in 2002 and have honored 150 local businesses. According to Kansas City Small Business Monthly, businesses with fewer than 25 employees make up the largest number of companies both locally and nationally. In fact, approximately 83 percent of Kansas City area businesses and 86 percent of businesses nationwide employ 19 or fewer employees. Before the 25 Under 25 Awards, no program existed to recognize this segment of Kansas City.

Lea-Ann was named one of the top 25 “Women Who Mean Business” by the Kansas City Business Journal in 2006.
