Hillsborough, NJ; April 19, 2010 Feline Pine is honored to announce a new partnership with the Winn Feline Foundation to fund research into health problems affecting cats. Although more people in America own cats as pets than dogs, knowledge about feline health problems is lacking, and far fewer research dollars are spent on feline research.
The research project funded by Winn, and supported financially by Feline Pine, seeks to find an effective treatment for a devastating disease of kittens, feline infectious peritonitis (FIP).The project is led by Dr. Alfred Legendre, professor in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville.
“We are so excited to be partnering with Feline Pine, they are truly a company that cares about the life and health of cats and their support of the Winn Feline Foundation assists us in our goal to help “every cat, every day.” Susan Little, DVM, DABVP (Feline Practice); past president, Winn Feline Foundation.
“We look forward to a long association with the Winn Feline Foundation. As a long-standing organization dedicated solely to the mission of helping the lives and welfare of all cats, the Winn Feline Foundation provides research into improving treatment of common feline health problems and helps to understand and prevent many diseases. We couldn’t be happier to be partnering with the premiere feline health research grantor in the world. We stand together in our caring and commitment to cats.” Dan Henderson, Brand Manager, Feline Pine.
The Winn Feline Foundation was established in 1968 by the Cat Fanciers’ Association to provide funding for feline health research projects. Winn remains the only organization solely devoted to funding feline health research in North America, and depends on the generosity of supporters, both private and corporate.www.winnfelinehealth.org , Become a fan on FaceBook. For more information, contact Janet Wolf, Executive Director (856-447-9798; email@example.com)
