Dogtripping by David Rosenfelt

A new year is upon us, with all the celebrations and resolutions Goodnewsforpets also wanted to share a good read to start the new year on a lighter note.

David Rosenfelt’s Dogtripping is moving and funny account of a cross-country move and the beginnings of a dog rescue foundation.

Description

Dogtripping recounts hilarious and eventful adventure of mystery writer David Rosenfelt and his family as they relocate from Southern California to Maine with their 25 dogs. David thought he had prepared for everything after mapping the route, buying three back-up GPSs, stocking the RV refrigerators full of food, and packing the stoves and microwaves needed for cooking. But traveling with 25 dogs turned out to be a much bigger ordeal than he anticipated, despite the multiple RVs, the extra kibble, a team of volunteers, and all the necessary camping gear.Rosenfelt recounts the adventure of moving his animal companions across the United States with humor and warmth, and tells the tale of how he and his wife became passionate foster parents for rescue dogs, culminating in the creation of the Tara Foundation and successfully placing several thousand dogs with loving families.

Reviews

Reviews by other pet parents are what mean most to us, check out this Chewy.com review from reader, Jenna. She rates Dogtripping 5 stars and her comment says it all.

“I highly recommend purchasing this book. I have read a lot of dog books, especially about rescues, but few come close to as good as this one. The author manages to combine the heartwarming, and sometimes heartbreaking, tales of rescue with the perfect amount of humor in the surface to make this read thoroughly enjoyable and uplifting. I highly recommend purchasing and reading this book!”
