A Happy New Year to our wonderful Goodnewsforpets.com community. As we turn the page on 2024, we are thankful for the many colleagues and friends we have made through publishing Goodnewsforpets.com. First and foremost is the Cat Writers Association (CWA), our first association partner under Amy Shojoa, CWA co-founder. We are pleased to continue to sponsor the CWA Goodnewsforpets.com Human-Animal Bond award and invite you to read our interview with Sassafras Patterdale Lowery, the 10th recipient of the award. Watch for news on the 2025 award that is part of the CWA Communications Contest in the coming months.
Another milestone we look forward to is attending the VMX veterinary conference in Orlando. We’ve attended for over two decades, and it never disappoints. It promises to be a fantastic conference. As I have been lecturing on responsible AI internationally, I look forward to all the updates on AI in veterinary medicine. Another highlight of VMX is a unique event from Blendvets and NAVC, which brings area students to the conference to experience hands-on what a future in veterinary medicine might entail.
Finally, at the beginning of February, the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show returns to Madison Square Garden for the first time since 2020.
2025 promises to be a year filled with anticipation and of course as the calendar indicates, plenty of pet centric events. We wish everyone a healthy and happy New Year and look forward to celebrating the good news about pets.
