Celebrate World Veterinary Day

The World Veterinary Association encourages veterinarians to celebrate World Veterinary Day, April 24. This is the fourth year the WVA has promoted the day, encouraging veterinarians to celebrate their profession.

World Veterinary Day offers an opportunity for the veterinary profession to collectively promote the diverse facets of their work and highlight their contributions to local communities.

In past years, various veterinary organizations and clinics from countries including Tunisia, India, Turkey, Slovenia, New Zealand, and the United States have celebrated the day in various ways. These include holding ceremonies, hosting seminars, or providing free veterinary care to the needy.

To learn more, visit www.worldvet.org and click on “World Veterinary Day” at the top of the left hand column. From this site, you will find reports of activities during the first three celebrations of World Veterinary Day. Veterinarians can contact the WVA to have their 2004 activity posted on the association’s Web site, including location and contact details.

The World Veterinary Association has members in more than a hundred countries.
