American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Foundation Launches Restructured Industry Donor Program

DENVER (July 13, 2015) – The American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Foundation announced the debut of its recently revamped One-by-One Program, which allows clinics and industries in veterinary medicine to play a key role in helping the Foundation find more effective treatments for diseases affecting animals, via transaction donations. The restructured program is now customizable, enabling participants to choose the ideal model for their clinic or organization.

The ACVIM Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to pioneering the healthcare of animals through the work of specialists in the ACVIM: small and large animal internists, cardiologists, neurologists, and oncologists. The idea for One-by-One partnerships originated when a veterinary specialty hospital decided to donate one percent of its credit card transactions to the ACVIM Foundation. That one percent for each singular transaction over time led to more than $10,000, which is enough to fund a year-long study to research better treatments for illnesses and ailments that afflict animals, like osteosarcoma, cardiomyopathy and zoonotic diseases.

“By becoming a One-By-One partner, clinics and industries in veterinary medicine help support the ACVIM Foundation’s goal of longer, healthier lives for pets – while conveying their dedication to animal health to their existing and potential clientele,” said ACVIM Foundation Director Andrea Miller. “The new, customizable One-by-One Program includes a menu of options to help the participant choose the appropriate fit for their clinic or organization, from donating a percentage of each transaction, to requesting clients round up when paying their bill or invoice.”

Participants in the One-by-One program will enjoy the benefits of:

  • Being viewed as a company that promotes a culture of caring by animal owners, specialists, general practitioners and technicians, through recognition and promotions hosted by the Foundation.
  • Knowing that they are providing essential funding to support studies and education, leading to better prevention, diagnostic and treatment options.
  • Supporting an increased public awareness of veterinary specialty medicine and promoting its services to the animal-owning public.

An anonymous sponsor will match program donations made to the program for up to $4,000. Donations to the One-by-One Program are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
