Since its creation in 1981, the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) has served as the voice of veterinary technicians in the profession. Through its commitment to education, communication and strategic relationships with key veterinary associations, NAVTA has become the official national organization of veterinary technicians. “NAVTA has brought to light the importance of the profession, which has meant better quality care for pets,” says Patrick Navarre, BS, RVT, Executive Director of NAVTA.
NAVTA promotes key events to celebrate pet wellness and the role of the veterinary technician. Promoting competent care and humane treatment of animals is the cornerstone of NAVTA’s mission. For the last 13 years, NAVTA has celebrated National Veterinary Technician Week in October to educate others about the important role veterinary technicians play in the care of animals.
