Last Tuesday I had the chance to take a little field trip uptown, I got to enjoy some early June air and sun. Oh, and the best part of this field trip was I was able to deliver a special package to some very special dogs.
On behalf of Goodnewsforpets, I delivered over 100 donated branded tennis balls during my visit to Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) Manhattan center. This organization is special because unlike many other rescue organizations they never turn away any homeless, abandoned, injured or sick animal in need. These animals include cats, dogs, rabbits, small mammals, reptiles, birds, farm animals and wildlife. NYC-ACC takes in approximately 30,000 animals each year, amazing I know!
This organization works tirelessly to save as many animals as they can, and it was pretty special to be able to make a small contribution to help them improve the lives of some of their residents. Ok so I lied when I said the best part of this trip was I got to deliver the tennis balls, that’s only half the truth. The full truth is that I had the amazing opportunity to play alongside a few of the adoptable dogs that would utilize the tennis balls. Being an avid animal dog lover and mom to three dogs of my own, I just melted at the thought of playing with these angels. Their cuteness did not disappoint!
I was so moved by what I learned about NYC-ACC that I was inspired to sign up to volunteer! I’m fortunate enough to have some extra free time on Fridays and plan to help out in whichever ways possible to help the NYACC continue running such an amazing organization.
