4th Tufts’ Canine and Feline Breeding & Genetics Conference: Focus on Feline Infectious Peritonitis, Immune mediated, and Inflammatory Diseases of Cats and Dogs

Hillsborough, NJ (July 24, 2009) — The 4th Tufts’ Canine and Feline Breeding & Genetics Conference will be held September 11 & 12, 2009 at the Sturbridge Host Hotel and Conference Center in Sturbridge, MA. This Winn Feline Foundation sponsored conference is geared toward communication and collaboration among researchers, practicing veterinarians, breeders, and breed clubs. An international speaking panel will bring together top researchers in the areas of genome wide scanning (GWS), the major histocompatability complex (MHC), genetic testing, genetic counseling, and specific genetic disorders of cats and dogs. One session will focus on feline infectious peritonitis.

In addition to the lecture presentations, there will be four hours of discussion panels. The speakers are Dr. Danika Bannasch, Dr. Jerold Bell, Dr. Tim Gruffydd-Jones, Dr. Elinor Karlsson, Dr. Lorna Kennedy, Dr. Susan Little, Dr. Leslie Lyons, Dr. Cathryn Mellersh, Dr. Ray Nachreiner, Dr. Mia Olsson, Dr. Niels Pedersen, and Dr. Ebenezer Satyaraj.

This event is open to veterinarians, dog and cat breeders, researchers, and enthusiasts. Registration is $245; however, an early bird registration of $195 is available until August 21, 2009.
