150th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, WVC Las Vegas and A Pet Dental Health Month Interview

February may be a short month, but it is never short on activity in the pet and veterinary world.

I was thrilled to be back in New York City at both the Javits Center and Madison Square Garden, attending as press for the 150th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. The festivities began with the DWAA Awards event, always a special gathering of colleagues and friends in pet media. Congratulations to all the winners, human and canine. It was an extraordinary milestone year for Westminster, and being there in person made it even more meaningful.

Next stop: WVC in Las Vegas. I popped in to interview Dr. Pease once again, visited exhibit booths, and had several productive meetings with veterinary industry colleagues. There is a great deal of innovation happening right now, and I look forward to sharing more insights from those conversations soon.

We wrapped up the month with one of my favorite topics in veterinary medicine: Pet Dental Health Month. I was fortunate to interview AVMA President Michael Bailey, DVM, DACVR, to discuss artificial intelligence in veterinary dentistry, practical dental care tips for pet owners, and why dental health should be part of a pet’s overall wellness plan. While February shines a spotlight on dental care, as Dr. Bailey emphasized, oral health is a year-round priority.

I will share more from WVC Las Vegas, including updates on WVC Nashville, in my next post. Then it is on to Global Pet Expo in March.

Stay tuned.
