SuperZoo Boosts its Expo Floor to Encompass More Merchandise for Retailers
Since SuperZoo’s inception in 1951, the show has seen many transformations in the pet industry, most notably the recent upswing in the number of “pet parents” and the growing tendency for people to consider pets as family members. Companies have responded to the pet humanization trend with innovative premium products focused on the health, comfort and pampering of pets. SuperZoo attendees can expect to see a host of new merchandise catering to this trend, ranging from organic and gluten-free treats to fashion suits for dogs.
“The pet industry is growing so quickly that it’s nearly impossible for independent pet store retailers to stay ahead of the curve and know what’s out there,” explains Doug Poindexter, President of World Pet Association. “At SuperZoo, we strive to present these retailers with a complete bird’s eye view of the industry and its newest products, giving them all the resources to boost their business throughout the coming year.”
As a testament to SuperZoo’s commitment to help retailers navigate the expanding industry landscape, SuperZoo organizes its trade show floor into distinct neighborhoods.
With more than 13,000 pet stores pulling revenues of $15.9 billion in 2013 alone (IBIS World), the demand for keeping storefront stocked with the latest pet products and learning new ways to remain on the cutting-edge of the pet industry is higher than ever. Along with presenting the newest industry trends, SuperZoo 2014 will offer over 80 seminars covering diverse aspects of the pet industry. In these classes, retailers will learn how to use these new products to attract customers, boost sales and build a thriving retail pet business. New grooming seminars like “Grooming the Popular New Doodle Breed,” and “The New Generation of Pet Grooming” dive further and offer hands-on and interactive training sessions that sharpen groomers’ professional skills and demonstrate how groomers can use the new products on the expo floor to make the cut in 2014.
