LANCASTER, PA | October 10, 2004
Cats and dogs are America’s most popular pets. But they wouldn’t be if people felt like Sir Winston Churchill who said, “I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals.”
If you want to know more about cats and dogs, the experts will be in Houston for the three-day Cat Writers’ Association (CWA) Conference, November 19 – 21, at the Hilton Americas Hotel. Authors are happy to do press interviews on topics ranging from feline health and behavior to cat and dog massage, to the success of guide dogs for the disabled.
More than 15 well-known authors will be autographing their books at the 2004 Cat Fanciers’ Association’s International Cat Show, at the George R. Brown Convention Center, on Saturday, November 20, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Book signings are also scheduled at the CWA booth on November 19, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and November 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reporters may contact authors now to set-up interviews in Houston, and authors will also be available in the weeks following the show, via e-mail and phone.
Attached is a listing of the authors, their most recent books, and their contact information. These include expert writers of nonfiction books such as how-to books for pet owners, veterinary resource and breed books, as well as humor and fiction.
The Cat Writers’ Association (CWA), Inc., is a professional organization of about 200 published writers, photographers, broadcasters and artists who specialize in feline issues. Its professional writing conference is held annually in conjunction with the CFA International show, the largest cat show in the Western Hemisphere. For more information or to pre-register to attend the CWA conference, which is open to the public, see our web site www.catwriters.org.
