North Shore Animal League America’s 25,000 Mile Tour for Life® Crisscrosses the U.S. to Save Shelter Pets From the Golden Gate to the Empire State

NEW YORK (February 4, 2004) — North Shore Animal League America’s three 35-foot-long mobile adoption units will visit 34 U.S. cities on the Fourth Annual Tour for Life® to help find the best adoptive homes for all animal orphans. The goal of Tour for Life is to spotlight animal shelters as the best places to adopt, make the public aware that shelter dogs and cats are wonderful lifetime companions, and announce the upcoming global Pet Adoptathon to be held May 1 and 2.

Between April 2 and April 24, 2004, the League’s national Tour for Life will:

The Tour kicks off in San Francisco and New Orleans and continues on to Albuquerque, Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York City, North Little Rock, Oakland, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Richmond, Sacramento, San Antonio, San Diego, Spartanburg, St. Louis, Canton, GA; Cortland, New York; Eatontown, New Jersey; Englewood, Colorado; London, Ohio; Loudon, Virginia; and West Valley City, Utah during this national pet adoption blitz.

“Distance is no object,” says NSAL America President John Stevenson, “The League would travel 25,000 miles to save just one animal’s life. However, our goal is to save many, many more.”
