WHAT: Mutt Strut 2005 presented by Above & Beyond Animal Care
The Humane Society of Indianapolis will host a day of fun for critters and their people at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Pets and their owners are invited to the Speedway to take a walk at the famous track and enjoy a variety of festivities including a blessing of the animals, pet contests and massages for pets and people. In addition, there will be demonstrations by breed rescue groups and search/rescue teams, and appearances by local celebrities.

HOW TO REGISTER: Those interested in participating in Mutt Strut 2005 can log on to the Humane Society of Indianapolis website at www.indyhumane.org to register on-line. Registration information is also available throughout the city at various locations including Above & Beyond Animal Care located at 10828 East U.S. Highway 36 in Avon, all central Indiana Marsh stores, and at central Indiana National City Bank branches. Registration brochures can be found as well as at various retailers and veterinary clinics in the metropolitan Indianapolis area.

The registration fee is $25.00 per person and includes a free t-shirt or $40.00 for families and up to four t-shirts and all pets will receive a bandana. Participants must pre-register by April 15, 2005 to guarantee t-shirts.

Prizes will be awarded based upon the total donations raised by a participant in addition to the registration fee. The funds raised by Mutt Strut will help support the programs and services of the Humane Society.

Since 1905, the Humane Society of Indianapolis (HSI) has served Central Indiana by caring for and placing its abandoned, abused and neglected animals in loving homes. More than 4,700 animals brought to the Humane Society in 2004 were placed in homes. As the society prepares for a second century of continuing care, the needs of the community and its animals will only expand. HSI is now calling on the community for increased financial support.
