Are you a cat person or a dog person? According to the 2007 U.S Pet Ownership and Demographics Sourcebook, there are more than 72 million pet dogs and nearly 82 million pet cats in the U.S., so that makes for a lot of cat and dog lovers. Goodnewsforpets celebrates both! From August through September we featured the Swarovski Crystal Company and gave away “Emily,” a crystal cat, and “Tomasino,” a crystal dog. This month we are not taking sides, we’re celebrating both cats and dogs by highlighting some events that celebrate both the dog and the cat, and some products we thought would be of interest.
Our most recent event was the SuperZoo Convention in Las Vegas, NV that showcased thousands of products. We were so impressed with this convention that we decided to highlight some of our favorite featured products. Visit the What’s New section to learn more. Next up, the public is invited to attend Meet the Breeds, October 17th-18th at the Javits Center in New York, presented by the American Kennel Club and the Cat Fanciers Association. This event is set to house 160 dog breeds and 41 cat breeds, all with their own areas designed to reflect their heritage, characteristics and attributes. Breed experts will be there to answer questions and attendees will be able to pet the dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.
