Ceva Animal Health Steps up Sponsorship of American Heartworm Society
Heartworm Education Support Pledged during Heartworm Awareness Month
(Lenexa, Kan., – April 26, 2016) — Ceva Animal Health has announced it is stepping up its commitment to the American Heartworm Society (AHS) by becoming a Platinum sponsor. The Platinum level is the highest level of sponsorship for AHS, whose mission it is to lead the veterinary profession and the public in the understanding of heartworm disease. #Fightheartworm
Ceva made their announcement during Heartworm Awareness Month (April), noting the importance of supporting heartworm education at a time of year when heartworm testing and discussions about heartworm prevention are a primary focus in veterinary clinics.
“We are pleased that Ceva Animal Health has decided to increase their funding commitment to a Platinum level sponsorship,” said Steve Jones, DVM, President of the American Heartworm Society. Choosing to announce their commitment during National Heartworm Awareness Month brings even more attention to the need to continue to support our mission. We look forward to working with Ceva Animal Health, along with our other sponsors, to help educate both practicing veterinarians and the pet-owning public about the importance of preventing this deadly disease.”
“This is an especially appropriate time for Ceva to show our support, as we believe the emphasis on the importance of fighting both heartworms and the vectors that carry them is more important than ever before,” said Craig Wallace, Chief Executive Officer, Ceva Animal Health.
Ceva has been a Silver AHS sponsor since 2014 before stepping up to the Platinum level. Other Platinum sponsors are Bayer, Elanco, Merial, Virbac and Zoetis.
