Celebrate National Pet Week

National Pet Week was jointly founded in 1981 by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Auxiliary to the AVMA, and is now widely celebrated throughout the United States and other parts of the world. This year, the week will be observed May 2nd " 8th. Each year, its goals are to promote responsible pet ownership, celebrate the human-animal bond, and promote public awareness of veterinary medicine.

Pets have profound affects on the lives of their human owners. They provide us with love, endless hours of companionship, and wonderful relationships that help fill our lives. National Pet Week is a celebration of those relationships.

Being a pet owner is not just fun and games. Being a responsible pet owner requires that your pet’s health is properly cared for. Information on the health of your pet is included at www.petweek.org, but make sure to talk with your veterinarian about your particular situation.
