The Assisi Loop 2.0 uses patented targeted pulsed electromagnetic field (tPEMF) technology that has been demonstrated through laboratory testing to have a proven effect on the known biochemical and cellular mechanisms of action related to inflammation, with results published in peer-reviewed journals. The Assisi Loop, available only through veterinary professionals, is prescribed by veterinarians to treat orthopedic injuries, degenerative neurological issues, post-surgical pain and swelling, inflammatory conditions and wounds.

The technology has been cleared by the FDA for treating post-operative pain and edema in humans. Although not required for veterinary medical devices, Assisi is funding clinical trials for this important innovation in pain management for veterinary medicine.

“The veterinarian and veterinary healthcare team are integral to the health of every pet. We are not only pleased to introduce the Assisi Loop 2.0, but look forward to helping educate the veterinary profession on the latest innovations in NPAIDs and tPEMF technology to improve the level of care they are providing their patients“, said John Wilkerson, PhD, Chief Executive Officer of Assisi Animal Health.

The Assisi Loop 2.0 features a sturdy sheath covering the coil wire applicator and comes in two sizes, the original 20 cm diameter coil and the new 10 cm size. Each Assisi Loop 2.0 delivers upwards of 150 fifteen-minute treatment cycles and is effective through casts. For specialized and critical care applications, the Assisi Loop 2.0 is also offered in an auto-cycling version for both the 20 cm and 10 cm configurations. The Assisi Loop 2.0 is regularly used as monotherapy or in combination with other therapies in treating dogs, cats and horses.

Deirdre Chiaramonte, DVM, ACVIM, CCRT, CVA and Veterinary Advisor for Assisi Animal Health is overseeing the clinical trials and a veterinary education program.

“I am looking forward to continuing to oversee this exciting area of research in pain management and helping to deliver educational programs to my veterinary colleagues,” said Dr. Chiaramonte.

Veterinarians will be able to place orders for the devices for their patients at the AVMA Booth #229 throughout the conference, for those not attending the conference contact their independent distributor representative or by calling toll-free 1-866-830-7342.
