The AVMA Convention, held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, will be packed with story ideas, interviews and photo opportunities. Members of the press are invited to the convention to meet and connect with veterinary experts from around the world, who will be on site to discuss issues spanning the entire range of animal, human and public health, including:

  • Lessons learned from the 2014 Ebola outbreak
  • Providing veterinary care after a disaster
  • Stem cell therapy in animals
  • The developing trend of hospice care for pets
  • Practical applications for genetic testing in dogs and cats

Other sessions will cover the latest advances in veterinary medicine, animal welfare, food safety, zoonotic disease and trends in pet ownership and health.

AVMA leadership will be on hand for the association’s House of Delegates
meetings, and several prominent figures within the AVMA, including incoming president Dr. Joseph Kinnarney and AVMA CEO Dr. Ron DeHaven, will be available for interviews.

In addition, hundreds of companies will be exhibiting in the convention center, showcasing everything from the latest high-tech medical innovations to pet products and services that will soon become available to pet owners.

Members of the media must register with the AVMA prior to the convention in order to validate their press credentials and ensure that their press badges and materials are ready for them when they arrive. Registration for the press is free.
