MONTREAL – The American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) will host the first annual ACVIM SpecialtySymposium (Pre-Forum) on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The ACVIM Specialty Symposium will be held prior to the beginning of the 2009 ACVIM Forum & Canadian VeterinaryMedical Association Convention held June 4 – 6, 2009, at the Palais des congres de Montreal.
“The goal of the ACVIM Specialty Symposium (Pre-Forum) is to encourage each ACVIM Specialty discipline to meet andrekindle the sense of camaraderie and commitment that established the ACVIM as the strong, member-driven organization it is todaywhile introducing ACVIM Candidates to the unique advantages of Board-certification in the Specialty they aspire to join,” saidVirginia Buechner-Maxwell, DVM, DACVIM (Large Animal Internal Medicine), and Program Chair of the ACVIM SpecialtySymposium.
ACVIM Specialty Symposium content has been determined by Diplomate feedback and the President of each ACVIMSpecialty. Each program will specifically focus on scientific and administrative issues relevant to each of the ACVIM’s five specialties- Cardiology, Large Animal Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, and Small Animal Internal Medicine.
