Wrapping a Bow Around #NewYorkVet, DWAA’s Coffey Interview, Thornton’s Thankful Pets

The event the Goodnewsforpets team had been waiting for all year arrived, and with it the #NewYorkVet exceeded all expectations.  The event hosted by CloserMedia at Jacob Javits Center, New York City November 910, 2017 successfully reintroduced Goodnewsforpets to many new vets in the veterinary community and celebrated and supported a national vet show right in our New York headquarters city.

We were also proud to announce our affiliation with the Cat Writers’ Association of America at the show, delighted with the positive reception by the veterinary healthcare team and thrilled to make many new industry friends. The NYC-centric prizes were a big hit – even with a surprising number of out of town attendees. We’re already looking forward to 2018. Go #NewYorkVet!goodnewsforpets new york vet

With New York Vet behind us, we are all waiting with baited breath for the December announcement of the Dog Writers Association of America (DWAA) contest winners. The venerable DWAA launched in 1935 at the Westminster Club Pressroom and still thrives today. We are fortunate to count DWAA as one of this site’s first media partners.  While we wait for the news, check out NBC TODAY.com writer and producer and DWAA vice president Laura Coffey’ guest interview. She includes tips for would be dog writers, how she came to champion adopting senior dogs, and the benefits of DWAA membership. When it comes to DWAA, there’s still always something fresh and new! Stay tuned!

Finally, as we close out November, it’s time to give thanks to all, but not forget about our beloved pets. Our frequent guest writer (and a former DWAA president) Kim Thornton has a feature story with some tips from the experts to help pet parents get through the holidays.

From all of us at Goodnewsforpets, have a very safe and Happy Thanksgiving with all your pets, wherever you may be!
