Peer Reviewed Journal Publishes New Data on ProHeart 6

The International Journal of Applied Research in Veterinary Medicine recently published a study “Safety Profile of Moxidectin (ProHeart 6) and Two Oral Heartworm Preventives in Dogs,” in its June 2005 issue. Larry T. Glickman,VMD, DrPH, and six other experts analyzed the medical records of nearly 2 million dogs across the country. The records were supplied to Dr. Glickman from Banfield, the Pet Hospital. The study compares the safety profiles of the ProHeart 6 injection, vaccines and two commonly used monthly heartworm preventives that are administered orally by pet owners. Results showed that the safety profiles for the heartworm preventives are comparable.
