New York City’s Biggest Free Pet Adoption Event Ever Comes to Brooklyn

(Brooklyn, NY — May 15, 2013) ” On June 1 and June 2, thousands of dogs and cats will be looking for their forever homes at New York City’s biggest pet adoption event ever ” all for free. The Alliance for NYC’s Animals will host “Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days” at locations in Brooklyn, as well as at locations across the other boroughs.

Homeless dogs and cats ” young and old, large and small, mixed and pure breeds, frisky and couch potatoes ” will be presented for adoption citywide by more than 50 area shelters and rescue groups. While many have had a rough start, they all have lots of love to give and all need permanent, loving homes. All of the adoptable pets have been spayed, neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

All adoptions will be free of charge thanks to generous funding from California-based Maddie’s Fund® (www.maddiesfund.org)– a family foundation, established in 1999 to help fund the creation of a no-kill nation.

Among the featured adoption locations in Brooklyn are:

  • Saturday, June 1st and Sunday, June 2nd: Animal Care & Control Brooklyn Animal Care Center, 2336 Linden Boulevard, Brooklyn, NY 11208
  • Saturday, June 1st and Sunday, June 2nd: Sean Casey Animal Rescue, 153 East 3rd Street (between Fort Hamilton Parkway and Caton Avenue), Brooklyn, NY 11218

Receiving no government funding, we are supported by donations from foundations, corporations, and individuals. As we mark our tenth anniversary in 2013, we are committed to transforming New York City into a no-kill community by 2015: where no dogs or cats of reasonable health and temperament will be killed merely because they do not have homes. www.AnimalAllianceNYC.org
