Dr. Karen Overall is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists (ACVB) and is certified by the Animal Behavior Society (ABS) as an Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist (CAAB). Dr. Overall has a long association with the University of Pennsylvania, at one time running the behavior clinic, and currently does research in the medical school at Penn. She has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally and authored more than one hundred scholarly publications and dozens of textbook chapters. Her textbook, Clinical Behavioral Medicine for Small Animals, was published in 1997. Her new book, Manual of Small Animal Clinical Behavioral Medicine, is soon to be published and will include an instructional video. Dr. Overall is the editor in chief for the Journal of Veterinary Behavior: Clinical Applications and Research. Dr. Overall resides with her husband and collaborator, Dr. Art Dunham, outside Philadelphia, where they share their lives with the resident wildlife and their rescued Australian Shepherds.
