Julie Lux Joins Goodnewsforpets As First Editor

GoodNewsForPets.com, a division of Germinder & Associates, Inc., public relations and marketing communications announced today that it has named Julie Lux as the first editor of the goodnewsforpets.com web site. She also serves as vice president, media relations and site content for the Germinder & Associates public relations and marketing communication agency.

Lux brings a broad background as a writer, producer and television talk show host to her new role with goodnewsforpets.com. As Public Relations Officer of the Dalmatian Club of America (DCA), in 1996 Lux lent her talents to lead a challenging but rewarding public relations campaign supervising the club’s efforts to inform the public about Dalmatians in light of the massive advertising and public relations campaign connected with the release of Disney’s live-action 101 Dalmatians. She continues in that role and currently is working with the DCA Board of Governors and representatives from the Walt Disney Company on public relations activities for the upcoming sequel, 102 Dalmatians.

Lux writes for a number of magazines including the AKC Gazette, AKC Afield, the Dalmatian Quarterly and her first books, one on Pointers and one on Irish Wolfhounds, will be published soon by T.F.H. Publications. She also serves as the columnist for American Foxhounds in the AKC Gazette.

Most recently, Lux served as public relations and marketing director for the National Rural Health Association, where she oversaw a national public outreach campaign to increase awareness of rural health issues; orchestrated corporate funding for the organization’s new community membership newsletter; and recently completed a media relations campaign for the association’s annual conference. She has been involved in public relations for the animal health industry, participating in product launches and national campaigns for Merck, Fort Dodge Animal Health and Hill’s Nutrition, Inc.

Lux also breeds and shows champion Beagles, American foxhounds and Dalmatians and is a member of the American Pointer Club and the Heart of America Kennel Club. She is a committee chair and former officer of the Leavenworth Kennel Club, a founding member of the American Foxhound Club and president and show chairman of the Heartland Dalmatian Club of Greater Kansas City.

“”We feel extremely fortunate that Julie Lux has agreed to join our firm,”” said Lea-Ann Germinder, APR, president of Germinder & Associates, Inc. and founder of goodnewsforpets.com. “”Her unique combination of experience in media, public relations, the showing fancy, and animal health along with her dedication to her own dogs and to pets in general make her invaluable to our team.””

With goodnewsforpets.com, Lux will have responsibility for expanding editorial content, developing new sections and services and working with the media to ensure that the site continues to be a valuable resource and to meet their needs.

“”Working on goodnewsforpets.com is a pleasure for me,”” Lux said. “”It allows me to work with my favorite subject, animals, and to work with people I respect and enjoy like Lea-Ann Germinder, Amy Davis, Shelli Manning and Steve Dale.””
