Jacqueline C. Neilson, DVM,DACVB, Bio

Dr. Jacqueline Neilson earned her DVM from the University of Florida and completed a residency in animal behavior at the University of California"Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists. She owned and practiced at the Animal Behavior Clinic in Portland, Oregon, from 1997 to 2011. She has served as a visiting instructor at the University of Florida and Oregon State Colleges of Veterinary Medicine. She is past president of the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association, 2011"2013 president of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Oregon Humane Society and of the Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon. She has published several papers and book chapters and is coauthor (with Dr. Horwitz) of Blackwell’s Five-Minute Veterinary Consult, Clinical Companion: Canine & Feline Behavior. She frequently lectures to veterinarians, their staff, and the public about animal behavior. In 2011 Dr. Neilson joined Elanco Companion Animal Health as a senior veterinary technical consultant.
