Goodnewsforpets.com Celebrates 5 Years, 100 Issues

Goodnewsforpets.com marks a major milestone this February, with the website celebrating 5 remarkable years in covering pet news. Our 100th issue promotes the latest animal health news, innovations in veterinary care and other pet events. This year, the February 2005 issue features in-depth coverage of the Westminster Kennel Club’s 129th Annual Dog Show and the Dog Writers Association of America’s 70th Anniversary Awards Banquet. This special issue will pay tribute to the dog world and media friends who have visited and used the site.

In 2000, Germinder & Associates, Inc. launched www.goodnewsforpets.com at the Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas, Nev. Throughout the years, Goodnewsforpets.com has received over 5.5 million hits, with an average view time of 15 minutes. The site has received several public relations awards and is the source for pet news. It has achieved millions of secondary impressions with news outlets including USA Today, Boys Life, the FDA newsletter and dozens of specialty dog and cat publications, as well as broadcast media.

“Congratulations on 5 years and 100 issues. You can be proud of the numbers, but should be even more proud of the quality of the content,” said Marty Becker, DVM.

Dozens of organizations have provided the support needed to help this site grow. Sponsors have included the American Animal Hospital Association, Abbott Labs, Fort Dodge Animal Health, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Inc., Merial, NAVTA, Ralston-Purina, and Western Veterinary Conference.

Believing and supporting in the concept from the beginning, syndicated columnist Steve Dale introduced author Mordecai Siegal to the site, and together they draw viewers to goodnewsforpets.com with the respected columns, “Pet World” and “The View from Mordecai Siegal.”

“2005 promises to be another banner year for goodnewsforpets.com. Many thanks to those who have contributed time and energy and to those who have believed in the concept and helped make it a reality. We will have more news as the year unfolds, so stay tuned!” said Lea Ann Germinder, APR, publisher, goodnewsforpets.com.
